I'm creating folders in the 'VMs and Templates' view to organize our VM's a bit. Works fine.
But when I create the folders, it doesn't display them in cronological order or in alphabetical order. And I haven't figured out how to change the order manually. Creating a new folder sometimes places it in the middle of the existing folders.
Thanks for any advice....Lyle
Hi Lyle
Curious - you have a large inventory of objects in your vCenter environment? see - http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102966...
If you restart vCenter services do they still appear in no fixed order?
Many tx
Hi, JC:
I doubled the Tomcat Initial and Maximum Memory Pool numbers, and guess I'll keep doubling them a few more times.
Adding a new folder after increasing Tomcat memory and restarting the vCenter Server service showed that the problem was still with me, ie a new folder will place itself in an unsorted position. Stopping and restarting the service once more does the trick, so I guess I have a work-around. But I'll try a few more memory pool boosts.
Thanks...Lyle
