Failed to initialize VMware VirtualCenter. Shutting down....

Yesterday our vCenter server hung up and after it got rebooted, the vCenter service won't start.  I have googled for answers and nothing quite fits.  This is from the vpxd log:

error 'vpxdvpxddatastore'] Duplicate name (datastore1 (2)) in datastore folder

error 'vpxdvpsdMain'] [Vpxd::ServerApp::Init] Init failed: VpxdDatastore::Init(gDB) and a whole bunch of Backtraces

then the Failed to initial VMware VirtualCenter.  Shutting down.....

Please help, not sure if I can open a ticket or not.  Thanks.

Hi,

I assume this is a windows vCenter Server?

Can you post the whole vpxd.log for us to see?

How many hosts/clusters are connected?

If it were me, I'd be logging into the hosts directly to check the configuration of the datastores...purely based off the three lines that you've posted.
