Hi gurus

  I would like to accomplish the following, and I hope some of you have come across.

1) I would like to connect an external HDD to a standalone ESXi Host with 5.1 version

2) I would like to add this external HDD as a datastore

3) I would like to copy a VM files to this external HDD.

is this possible? and if yes can I get a step-by-step Help.

What is the type of HDD? This is possible but not recommended in production, you might face performance issue.
