Exporting ESX 4.X logs

Dear Folks,

Lately, I have been configuring syslog exports from my ESXi 5.x hosts to shared datastores to avoid losing logs when a host reboots. This option exports all logs contained in the local host (hostd, syslog, vpxa, fdm, auth, etc.):

In addition, we are exporting the logs to a remote server using VMware Syslog Collector 5.5. This server only collects the syslog.log file as many times as you configure but doesn't collect the rest of the files:

My problem now is that I don't have the option to export ALL logs to a shared datastore when using ESX4.x hosts. Only one file can be exported:

So have two questions:

1) How can I export to a shared datastore all ESX 4.x logs as I do with ESXi 5.x hosts,

2) and why the VMware Syslog Collector 5.5 only captures the syslog.log data file in the remote server.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Christian
