Guys,

The procedure used to reapontar vCenter for external PSC is described in KB:

https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=...

I need help.

Which vCenter server version you're running ? And what about first move to an external PSC at the same site and then move to another external PSC on different site ?

To convert from embedded PSC to external PSC you need to reconfigure and not repoint.

Please see here for everything including prerequisits:: http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-60/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.upgrade.doc%2FGUID-E7DFB362-...

My vCenter Server version 6.0 U2 with Windows Server 2012.

Yes, I move to an external PSC on the same site and then when I'm going to move to another external PSC with different site, the above error occurs.

Okay, so you have created a new E PSC and you are now trying to point the VC to thew new PSC but get this error?

Yes, my vCenter is configured for an external PSC with site-b and I want to configure it for a new external psc with site-bc.

I'm following the steps below existing in the KB: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=...

Are you using a load-balancer by any chance? I see some useful information here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/vmware/comments/3yxi7u/vcenter_6_repointing_not_working_ha_pscs_wnsx_lb/

Also, can you verify that the VC you are trying to repoint is no longer an Embedded PSC? - You can check by logging into the console and it will tell you on the screen.

I understand, but the VC did have embedded PSC at one point right?

I have problem to repoint my vCenter 6 with embedded platform to external platform with different site, see image bellow.

We need to verify 100% that this VC no longer has an embedded PSC. I've seen it where that process of changing from embedded to external failed and therefore the repoint will fail to another site also.

The only times I have seen this error LDAP error: Operations Error is when the VC still has the embedded PSC configured or is a load balancer is in use.

Since none of these apply, I would open a case with VMware

I suppose one thing to try is to remove the LDAP identity sources from the PSCs and try again but that's just a guess.

How to remove the LDAP identity sources from the PSCs ?

I go make more tests to validate the first information you about embedded PSC.

Login to your VCs and remove the identity sources for LDAP from there.

It will stop LDAP users from logging in though of course until you add them back in.
