Error install vcenter server 5.5
Hi, I request your help to make the installation of vcenter server 5.5, I now get the following error "there is a problem With This Windows Installer packege,
A DLL required for esto a complete Could not be run .... "
Thank you, greetings.
Have you launched the installer using "Run as Administrator" ? And you can tell the version of OS where you're trying install the vCenter ?
recommended Custom way to install a one component
The installation was done in windows 2008 R2 and was based on the requirements and it must be windows 2008 SP2, installing the windows done in 2012
Greetings
Did you test with another ISO? It could be the actual software you downloaded.
Like Richardson said, right click on the install file and "Run as administrator"
Regards
Girish
On a (very) clean Server 2008 R2 install, it looks like the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages aren't installed (but they do exist on the vCenter Installer disk).
It looks like a VMware goof in the SSO package installer.
The lazy work around is to install the vCenter Server first, and after it fails because there's no SSO to point at, install the SSO (or execute the Simple Install).
Hello
You can also try manual step-by-step installation.
Thanks for this. That fixed it for me, just went into the \Single Sign-On\prerequisites\ and installed the vcredist_x64.exe file (Visual C++ Redistributable)
Thanks a lot for sharing information. Helped me as well.
Installed vCredist_x64 prerequisties of single sign-on which fixed this issue.
I had the same issue. Usually installer/DLL issues are related to M$ .NET problems.
1) Go into server manager and Add Feature ---> .Net Environment (accept defaults if not sure what you're doing)
2) Re-run the VCenter-Server installer (which will automatically install the prerequisites)
Make sure you're logged in as a user with the appropriate rights.
This should get you going in the right direction
You are required to install the following components as prerequisites.
Note: In some cases, you need to run the install while logged in as the local Administrator user.
