ERROR:DNS_ERROR_BAD_PACKET - VCSA 6.5

Hello

We have deployed the VCSA  6.5 on newly build ESXi host. This appliance is behind the Firewall but when we try to join this in to domain, we are getting below error.

20181004173937:INFO:File /tmp/likewisetmpFjewzL/etc/krb5.conf modified

20181004173937:INFO:Finishing krb5.conf configuration

20181004174621:ERROR:DNS_ERROR_BAD_PACKET [DNS_ERROR_BAD_PACKET]

A bad packet was received from a DNS server. Potentially the requested address does not exist.

Can anyone help.

- Firewall ports are opened

- NTP setting is ok

- DNS setting are ok

- name resolution are ok from outside the network.

Two things to start of with -

1) Check the nameserver IP in the /etc/resolv.conf file. If it is wrong, edit the file with the right IP and then try to join to the domain.

2) In case of complex DNS environments, the DNS reply might exceed 512 bytes and will be sent over TCP port 53. Check if this port is open throughout.
