Downgrade vSphere 7 Essentials to 6.5

Hi, i've just purchased a vSphere 7 Essentials license and i what to a downgrade to the 6.5 version.

However, in the downgrade tab, there is only a downgrade to 6.0, then it will need to be upgraded to 6.5? Or will I just need to physically upgrade vSphere to version 6.5? Or will I downgrade to 6.0 and be able to download 6.5 vSphere from the official site?

Hi,

There is no separate key for 6 and 6.5. VMware license keys are only available for major versions (v6, v7, v8) and any given major version key will work for all the minor versions.

For example, vSphere 6 license key will work for vSphere versions : 6.1, 6.5, 6.7,..etc

So your vSphere 6 Essentials key will surely work for vSphere 6.5.
