vCenter 5.5 has ISO file for Windows, and OVF for ESXi. So. By the OVF file, vCenter can direactly install on ESXi host.
I am wondering if 6.6 also has OVF file. I only see ISO for Windows and ISO for Linux, can't find OVF file.
Thansk,
George
The ISO file for vCenter 6.5 contains an OVF that is deployed via CLI or UI installer tools also present on the same ISO. Effectively, those tools front-end the deployment of the OVF directly to an ESXi host.
Thank daphnissovfor your quick response.
Could you please post the link for how to install the OVF to ESXi host in the ISO
There are dozens upon dozens of documents, blog articles, and videos that show this process. Here is just one.
Looks like 6.5 is very different with 5.5 as 5.5 needs to download the OVF alone. 6.5 ISO includes the OVF and install it from Windows. Right?
You can also install it from Mac or Linux.
Thank you so much!
sorry, on my screen, I can't see the folder vcsa-installer
after I clicked autorun, I only saw:
There were no 4 choices like you posted above.

much thank in advance!
george
You downloaded the wrong file. You have there the vCenter installer for Windows. There is a separate file that contains the vCSA.
