By default a VM swap file with the size of the allocated memory minus reserved memory is created at power on of a VM.

If you do have sufficient physical host memory, you may reserve some, or all memory in the VM's memory settings.

When powered on, a swap file is created with the size of the provisioned RAM, so the ~52GB doesn't look wrong to me.
