Disable start VM if host does not have resources

Hello,

Could i ask something about VMware vCenter Server 6.7
It possible setup restriction or user rights about starting VMs, if host resources (RAM, CPU) are less than 10% or less than 10 GHz/20 GB RAM left.
Because our users dont respect host resources and start vms even if host doesnt have them.

Thank you very much.

That's something where HA (Admission Control) usually comes into play. Admission Control - depending on its settings - will not allow VMs to be powerd on with unsufficient resources in a cluster, to protect powerd on VMs in case of a host failure.

Thank you Adnré for your answer.
So, we don't a have HA cluster. Can we perform this setup somehow else, or not?

Thank you

Since you don't have HA, I assume your also don't have DRS licensed/activated, which would offer an option to place the VMs in different Resource Pools with predefined resources?

Maybe you should start with explaining how your environemnt looks like, to find out which option are available.
