I am looking to exclude the below events from my alerting but am having trouble configuring this as an advanced condition for the Network connectivity lost alarm. These are adapters created by IBM for in-band management and it seems from time to time they drop and come right back. I am trying to clean up these alerts without loosing the others. Can anyone offer some help with this? I was thinking I could do an argument adding "vSwitchUSB0" as the value and for it to not trigger if this is present in the event.
Lost network connectivity on virtual switch "vSwitchUSB0". Physical NIC vusb0 is down. Affected portgroups:"IMM_Network0"
You can disable this interface, but take in mind that firmware upgrade must be done through IMM Web Interface instead of Linux/Windows flash utility. Take a look here: IBM Why does my VMware ESXi 5.x host have standard virtual switch vSwitchUSB0 with VMkernel port gro...
Yes, I know you can disable it, that is not want I am wanting to do though...
bump...
We have activated alerts in vRealize to our SLA team.
Last weekend we have a "port down" on that vSwitchUSB.
Of course it is not needed to alarm our SLA team about this during a night.
Is there already a way to exclude this?
In inventory you can do stop collecting my guess this should to the trick
This would be for VROPS though and not a solution for alarms triggered from virtual center. Interesting though, I may transition from vcenter alerting to vrops alerting since I seem to have more granularity with that product.
I believe I have found what I was needing as shown in my example below...
