Custom alarm trigger for vm power on error

We encounter an error when powering on a vm that is using a nVIDIA vGPU and I would like to create an alarm for this condition.

Environment:

ESXi 6.0 U2

vCenter 6.0.0, 3634793

GPU - nVIDIA M60

GPU Profile - grid_m60-1q

We have an ongoing problem that requires the GPU mode on the physical GPU to be reset with the gpumodeswitch utility.

A symptom of this issue is an error when powering on the vm. Could not initialize plugin /usr/lib64/vmware/plugin/libnvidia-vgx.so'.

I would like this error to be a trigger for an alarm.

I tried

General | Alarm Type: Host

Monitor for specific event occurring...,

Trigger:

Event: Host Error

Status: Alert

Conditions:

     Argument: Full Message

     Operator: Starts with

Value: "Could not initialize plugin '/usr/lib64/vmware/plugin/libnvidia-vgx.so'."

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Tim
