Could not find logs

Hi there,

I am a software engineer at OpsGenie and working on VmWare VCenter integration. I have a few questions. When I create an alert I configure actions as "Run a command" and give the full path of my .bat file. However, when an alarm or a warning is created or fixed nothing happens. I tried to find the logs but I did not find those anywhere. Where can I find the logs for alarm actions? What can be the problem?

Hi,

I am using version 6.0. but you wrote that your solution is for version up to 5.1. What do I need to do for version 6.0?

Hi,

If you're using vCenter Server Appliance, you can find this log in /var/log/vcenter_alarms.log.

Location of VMware vCenter Server 6.0 log files (2110014) | VMware KB

It is not specifically mentioned as for alarms , you may check these locations also download the logs form vcenter and check .

Again you can get information from ESXi  related to specific error / events occurred  , using cli mode .

Also check logs by using below method

https://hostname/host   - >  use root credentials   and you can download / view the logs
