Few things to check
is the VM powered on ?
What are the versions for the esxi / vcenter / vm hardware ?
I guess the snapshot consolidation failed ? right
do you have any backup vm which mounts the vmdk and then releases it? If yes then check if the vmdk is mounted on it
run the vmkfstools -D path to the flat file and check on which esxi host it is locked ?
check for snapshot chaining
finally restart the management agent on the host and then try to consolidate

Hi Hkito,
The easiest way to fix this issue.
There are ways to fix this problem with esxcli and some of the other methods mentioned by other members are a good start. But after using HPDP which loves to abandon snapshots, the easiest way is to clone and delete.
Kind Regards
iiToby
PS Please confirm before you delete
- Since this VM can't shutdown anytime, what's another way to fix this problem ?
- Otherwise, what's the root cause ?
Thanks !
