Cannot invoke VCSA 6.5 HA

Hi All,

I cannot invoke VCSA HA at all, and get the error message below:

The operation is not allowed in the current state. Failed to get management network information. Verify if management interface (NIC0) is configured correctly and is reachable.

I have done the following:

1. Made sure the VCSA name is in lower case (fixed it with a previous query);

2. Made sure the Forward/Reverse lookup zones in DNS reflect the correct details of the VCSA (also all in lower case), and verified I can resolve the name via nslookup;

3. Created a standard port on a separate vSwitch for the VCSA HA network on all hosts (same name);

4. Added a second NIC to the current active VCSA and given it an IP address (8.8.8.1);

All compatibility checks succeed during the Basic configuration mode.

I did notice that when running through the Basic configuration mode that 1d. Select networks: Management network: doesn't give me the option to select the actual management network (which I assume is the hosts management network that is set up when the hosts are installed).

When I try completing the wizard I get the error above.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Craig

Sorted this out myself as follows:

* Created a new Reverse Lookup Zone with the IP address of the HA network;

* Added in another A Record for the HA NIC Address on the primary VCSA

* Reran the VCSA HA installation which succeeded.

Tested and all working!
