Can i take multiple snapshots in vCenter?

Can i take multiple snapshots in vCenter? our NetApp SMVI is broken and I would like to schedule a backup of all vms?

Yes. but snapshots for a virtual machine is limited to 32 #

indeed you can but keep in mind that snapshots are not backups!!

it slow things down because it needs to read from your vmdk file and from your snapshot file

try using 3th party tools instead on a station with access to vsphere environment and large USB disk until your netapp work again

enough tools out there

veeam, vm turbo, ...etc

Veeam Free in combination with scheduled PS task might answer your requirements. In contrast to snapshots (that are dependent by nature), it would be totally independent backup files that can be located on whatever media you want to and restored easily in case production VMs go down.
