Backing up vCenter Appliance

I am following this article on how to backup the vCenter Appliance:

VMware KB: Backing up and restoring the vCenter Server Appliance (vPostgres) database

it will not take the EMB_DB_Password value that is specified in the embedded_db.cfg file.

EMB_DB_TYPE='PostgreSQL'

EMB_DB_SERVER='127.0.0.1'

EMB_DB_PORT='5432'

EMB_DB_INSTANCE='VCDB'

EMB_DB_USER='vc'

EMB_DB_PASSWORD='8Ve9t7WY3eHxyGTX'

EMB_DB_STORAGE='/storage/db/vpostgres'

pg_dump: [archiver (db)] connection to database "EMB_DB_INSTANCE" failed: FATAL:  password authentication failed for user "EMB_DB_USER"

srvlavvcenter02:/opt/vmware/vpostgres/1.0/bin #

I have copied and pasted, I have entered in manually with no changes. Can some direct me as to what I am doing wrong?

OK, Just an FYI to anyone who comes across this.

You need to type the actual values in not the environment variables.
