Anyone have seen any issues going from 10.3.X VMTOOLS to 11.0.5?

We are getting ready to update all our VMs with this, and wanted to see if anyone has seen any known issues with this version above?

Hi,

VMware Tools 11.0.5 Release Notes

VMware Tools 11.0.5 Release Notes

the only note concerning esxi6.0 is this:

Important note about upgrading to ESXi 6.0 or later

Resolution on incompatibility and general guidelines: While upgrading ESXi hosts to ESXi 6.0 or later, and using older versions of Horizon View Agent, refer to the knowledge base articles:

Checking well also the version 10.3.x on the notes says the same thing of the version 11.0.5 so you have nothing to worry about.

VMware Tools 10.3.21 Release Notes

Note:

For other ISOs, use VMware Tools 10.3.10 or 11.0.0 release versions.

AFAIK the upgrade to VMware Tools 11.0.5 is fine if you have 10.3.x.

The only issue regarding ESXi 6.0 is, that you should have the minimum version of ESXi supporting 10.x.x.

You can check that on https://packages.vmware.com/tools/versions

After that, you can update your VMs with the new tools, but get sure you have some to test.

We tested this upgrade method (10.3.10 --> 11.0.5) on 3 windows server vms without problems.

Best regards

Yes, we tested the 11.0.5 on 3 VMs, different OS versions.  All went well.  Thank you.  I just wanted to hear from people with experience doing it if they saw any issues. Smiley Happy
