After vCenter host rename - Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems

Hi All!

I've renamed the vCenter server and when logging into the vsphere web client a warning pops up with 'Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems'.

I have un-installed vCenter and re-installed, removed the old SSO certificates which allowed me to connect into the vCenter server.

Everything is now functional however I get this warning it is attempting to connect to the old hostname.

Any ideas I can unregister the old name?

Worst case I can un-install all the vmware components and start fresh, however I'd like to avoid that where possible Smiley Happy

Thanks!

Hi

Check in the DNS Server Settings to remove the old A record .

Thanks Sadiq1435, DNS is working fine with no mention of the old hostname.

I suspect it is a stale registration of SSO or vsphere web client somewhere.

Hi Dishank,

Thankyou - that article is fantastic!

I still had some issues with the certificate CA being issues by/from the old hostname - this is only a very small deployment so I have removed and re-installed vCenter.

Thanks again.
