I have a really odd issue, I've created a virtual machine, and I've had to add some additional CPUID configuration to the VMX file so that a bespoke software will run on the guest OS. However whenever I clone the machine, the additional VMX configuration is removed. If I add back in the additional lines, the machine boots with the necessary changes fine.
I am unsure why this is happening, I've played around with various VM types, Guest OS setting, VM hardware etc, and it seems persistent. Is there any way to stop this behaviour from happening. I am aware that I could write a script to add in the additional information once the VM has been cloned. But for my customer that will be utilising this system, that will be inconvenient.
