A couple of questions regarding vcsa 6.0 to 6.5 upgrade...

hello all...

Question #1:  How does the new vcsa get its network information?  I use a vSS for management and dvPortGroups for the rest.  Will the new vcsa derive this information from the host? Will I need to import?

Question #2:  Regarding esxi versions...  My hosts are currently at 6.0 u3.  Do they need to be upgraded to 6.5 also?  I know that esxi 6.0 will support vcsa 6.5 but I see a few tutorials that combine both vcsa and esxi upgrades.

Tnx...

  • The upgrade process creates a new VM, and takes over all settings from the existing one. Note that with Update Manager in place, you will need to the Migration Assistant on that Windows host.
  • No need to upgrade the host, just - as always - make sure that you are running a supported onfiguration (see VMware Product Interoperability Matrices)
