I'm running ESXi 5.0, 1024429. I have deployed 2012 STD VM and now thinking to make 2012 VM as an AD. Are there any issues with 2012 AD running ESXi 5.0 which I should be aware of?
The ESXi build you are running is Patch 5 (see VMware KB: Correlating vCenter Server and ESXi/ESX host build numbers to update levels ) which followed Update 2. Windows 2012 is supported with Update 2 or newer (see VMware Compatibility Guide: Guest/Host Search), so there should be no issues running a Windows 2012 VM, no matter whether this is a DC or not.
