2 standalone vcenters configurations

I am looking into adding a second vcenter server to add redundancy.  We have the license and just setup the second one in standalone mode to have full functionally. When the installation was complete I opened it again and there was no inventory.  I was just checking to see if I had to manually enter everything or can I import it and sync the two.

I think you would have to use something like vCenter Heartbeat for high availability.

That seems useful but it is there any way to, for now, just have 2 standalones synced?

I don't think so.  I'll move this post over to the vCenter forum to see if anyone there can assist.

While both VCs only require the Databases to be in sync for managing and for high availablity, MSCS would be the best choice for you. Link here

It is possible to have only one vCenter online at a time

Check Supported vCenter Server high availability options
