I just finished setting up VCenter 5.5 on all new equipment - migrated all vms and everything is running fine. I'm in the process of upgrading the old equipment to 5.5 so we can use for testing - specifically p to v. I don't want the old equipment once upgraded to 5.5 to communicate with the new setup.
When I install VCenter server on the old equipment do I choose "VCenter SSO for your first VCenter server again"? Will this affect my current live setup some how or will it just be a totally separate VCenter server that will mind its own business?
Thanks.
If the VC will not be a dependent on the other (or require link mode etc etc) then yes for a test lab, a new SSO domain for your VC is perfectly fine.

If this is just a test lab environment that has nothing to do with the fresh new installation, then you should create a new SSO dedicated for that testing vCenter.
Good luck.
