I am researching how to monitor appliances and am confused with some parts. Maybe you can help me out clearing some. Is the appliance rest api Appliance REST APIs API Reference Documentation only for the VCSA or can it be used also for 'other' appliances ? this brings me to the next question : what type of appliances do we have ? , during my research i see the word appliance used different ways. I see appliance as normal VM with a OFA deploy or as an vApp and i see it referred a lot to the vCenter VCSA .
The main reason is that i want to create a generic appliance monitoring feature and was wondering if i could use the appliance rest api Appliance REST APIs API Reference Documentation to discover and monitor all flavors of appliances.
