Installing CentOS on vSphere 5.1.0 in a Windows Network - No Internet

I'm tyring to install CentOS 7 on vSphere 5.1.0.  First off, this version of vSphere didn't have an enrty for CentOS 7 in the Guest Operating System version dropdown.  I tried using CentOS 4/5/6 (64 bit), as well as Other Linux (64 bit). I also tried installing CentOS 6, but the problem below is not resolved.

The NIC I have chosen is Repl, with the E1000 Adapter.

At the end of the installation, the VM can't connect to the Internet using the installed FireFox, or even ping via Terminal.

I haven't installed VMWare Tools yet, as that requires the internet.

I haven't done anything with Samba.  My understanding is that it's only needed if I want the CentOS to be able to talk to the other computers in our Windows domain; it's not needed simply to connect to the Internet.

I'm assuming there's some Network configuration I need to do in Linux, maybe with DHCP or something.  I thought it would work automatically, but apparently I was wrong.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Looks like you can install VMWare tools without the network, via an ISO that is automatically included by VMWare.  Let's see if that does the trick.

The problem wasn't with VMWare Tools. Bummer.

Still searching.
