I am developing a small windows based tool for gathering health status of all guest OS installed over an ESX/ESXi server. There are multiple ways i guess to do so. One is to use the VM Ware SDK. But, over one of the forums I also found that we can use a library installed when we install Power CLI. The library is "VMWare.Vim.dll". However there are comments that this library cannot be redistributed. Wanted to know if this is the case. If i can use this library, it is really easy to implement what i want, and if i ship it with my tool will there be any licensing that I have to agree with or I actually cannot ship it? Between my tool will be available as a freeware.
