Decrease number of vCPU

I had increased vCPU from 2 to 3. But now, I want to go back to scale down to 2. But I'm unable to decrease the count, 3 is the minimum number now? What could be the reason

Did you tried with the virtual machine powered off? If yes, post a screenshot with the virtual machine configuration and error message you're getting.

Could you please share the error details .

If you didn't enabled  CPU hot add you cannot decrease or increase cpu live . But you can power off the VM and decrease the CPU .

Also check is there any configuration on CPU shares / NUMA settings over there .
