I have Workstation Pro 14.1.1 running on two Linux Mint 18.3 machines. Shared VMs work fine locally, and autostart with the system.
When I try to connect to a remote server, it ends up crashing the remote server's vmware-workstation-server service, disconnecting all Shared VMs on that machine, and requires root to perform "service vmware-workstation-server restart" before any other action can be taken with the shared VMs.
This shows up in the hostd log:
2018-02-09T22:01:34.327-07:00 warning hostd[43960] [Originator@6876 sub=Proxysvc] SSL Handshake failed for stream <SSL(<io_obj p:0x00007fbef0036d50, h:25, <TCP '192.168.1.10 : 443'>, <TCP '192.168.1.11 : 38192'>>)>: N7Vmacore3Ssl12SSLExceptionE(SSL Exception: error:14094438:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert internal error) --> [context]zKq7AVECAQAAAOfecgAMaG9zdGQAAKRONWxpYnZtYWNvcmUuc28AADQzHAC7KRgASjIoAKO8JgAMviYA4cooAFFLKAA1TygAN8E1Abp2AGxpYnB0aHJlYWQuc28uMAACHXQQbGliYy5zby42AA==[/context]
which doesn't seem like something that should take down the server.
I'm using the default self-signed certificate, and the same unix user setup on both machines.
