vmware workstation pro 15.0.4 cannot compile modules on Suse SLED 15 SP2 host

Good evening (here in Germany ...)

I tried to install vmware workstation on my Suse SLED without success.

Of course, I have the kernel headers and kernel-source installed.

Because I need a lot of apps, I needed to enable a lot of foreign repositories,

so my installation may be not so clean. But all other stuff is working fine.

I attached the logfile to this post.

I think, the first odd message is:

Failed to find /lib/modules/5.3.18-24.96-default/build/include/linux/version.h

I looked there, and  yes these file is not there.

On my second PC (also SLED 15 SP2) Workstation Player is running, all runs well,

i llooked there, yes there is also not this file ,version.h' at this location.

Has anybody experience with Suse and this problem?

Greetings,

Holger

Sorry,

I remembered that it is a well-known Problem and the solution will be in connection with the kubecek patch.

I tried to solve, but ran in new troubles.

Now I will make a fresh install of my system.

Best solution would be to delete this thread,

but I can't, even there is no anser until now.

Best regards,

Holger
