Hi! I am having trouble running the vmware-config-tools.pl command.
I created a Fedora install on VMWare Workstation. I followed the instructions on this page to install VMWare tools from the command-line:
http://www.vmware.com/support/ws55/doc/ws_newguest_tools_linux.html#wp1127214
I ran the tool "vmware-config-tools.pl". I tried to run it three times:
Try 1: I ran it through an SSH session. I got a warning saying I would lose my connection and I should run the command directly in the host OS. I canceled and disconnected.
Try 2: I ran the command and it hung for a long time. I hit ^c and I returned back to the command line. After a minute, I started getting output errors on the screen. I included those errors in the image attached to this post. The system hung for about 30 minutes after those errors and never appeared to do anything.
Try 3: I rebooted the VM Image and ran the vmware-config-tools.pl again. It has been sitting for about 20 minutes with no output.
I haven't been able to find much info on the web about this tool. Does anybody know if there's anything I can do here? I'm a linux novice, so I may have missed something trivial. Thanks in advance!
