v6.1 unable to proceed without log file

i have v5.5 installed ubuntu desktop 20.04, work well.

and upgrade to workstation v6.1 and add an exist vmdisk from v5.5

then the error prompt start:

unable to proceed without log file

I edit the vmx file add:

logging = FALSE
log.filename="vmware.log"

the error still exists.

please help.

I assume you meant 15.5 and 16.1, otherwise you’re using very old versions.

You say Ubuntu 20.04 runs in Workstation 5.5 VM - really ???
I doubt that ....

Why do you think that disabling logging in the vmx-file by setting
logging = FALSE

could be a fix for an error "unable to proceed without log file" ???

Please explain ....
