I'm trying to upgrade my existing VM's to windows 10 from 7. When I try to upgrade them on the VM it tells ne that "lsi adapter ultra320 scsi 2000 series" is not compatible with windows 10. Should I change the adapter (if so how?) or is there another way.
Check out my article here:
I have tried this method but I was unable to find "open config file in editor" I'm using VM workstation pro
Open the vmx file in any file editor on your host (with Workstation closed down!).
Sorry about that, the article was written for VMware Fusion, but it works the same on VMware Workstation. There are some small differences in the steps as the host OS and interface of Workstation are both different.
@RDPetruska is right, edit the .vmx file with a plain text editor, like notepad.
Do this with VMware Workstation closed and the VM shut down, not suspended.
You can find the .vmx file in the VM's folder.
Hope this helps,
