the vmware screen is black

Hi,

I use vmware 5.5.3 on a mandriva 2004 and the 3D Desktop. The guest OS is WinMe.

When I power the virtual machine It works but unfortunetly the screen is black.

If I want to get the screen of my guest OS I need to choose the 'run with debugging information'.

It work's but slowly.

Any idea about that probleme ?

I believe that the black screen may be caused by having the wrong permissions of the virtual directory and/or virtual machine files. Make sure that the .vmx file is r-x for the user powering on the virtual machine

Hi Kevin,

Thank's a lot for your quick answer.

I check tpermissions of the files but nothing appears wrong. And the binary vmware is executed by 'root'.

The difference is whith or whithout debugginf informatiobs.

So what could be the relation between debugging and good screen ?

\- the fact that the virtual machine is working slower ?

\- or is there something else that we d'on't know ?
