slow down keystrokes

I have tried Ubuntu 8.01, Fedora Core 9, and Open Suse 11 on a 2 hosts: Windows XP and Vista. The XP is a 2.8 ghz with 2 Gb. of ram. The Vista is a dual core (Compaq F730US) with 2 gb of ram.

On the Vista machine, I am "typing 2 or more characters" when I type in a single letter.

So when I try to type in either a browser window or terminal session, I type in things like su I may get sssssssssuu.

Is there some way to slow down the way the keystrokes are typed?

Vmware 6.04 build 93057

thanks

Hi,

I understand that this is a very old post and it is too late for the reply. But just in case someone finds this helpful!!.

I couldn't find a solution to the actual problem of getting multiple keystrokes but the workaround that I used is to reduce the "repeat rate" prop in the keyboard properties of my VMWare XP machine from control panel.

Hope this helps!!

I also had the rreeppeeaattiinngg key problem running Fedora on a very high end Windows XP host.

After unsuccessfully trying a few things in my vmx settings I found a fix in Fedora.

In the System -> Preferences -> Keyboard gui adjust the "Repeat Keys" delay and speed.

Simple, and worked right away.
