I know there have been similar problems reported. However, those solutions described did not help me.

I have attached the log. The VM created I want to use on my Notebook using VM Workstation.

Did you launched the vCenter Converter using Run As Administrator ? And tell us what you already tried without success.

Thanks for the reply. I have turned off UAC , i.e. to never get notified. I have started the converter as administrator (right click on he pgm icon and then start as..)

I am using version 5.5.3 build 2183569.

Yesterday, I tried an older version => 4... that worked fine. Only that the resulting VM did not please me, however, the VM was created with version.
