"Unable to connect to the MKS: Internal error." with a shared virtual machine.

Hi.

VMware Workstation 10.0.1 build-1379776

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1

Trying to power on a Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit virtual machine produces the following error:

Unable to connect to the MKS: Internal error.

Attached vmware.log.

If I manually change the CD\DVD to use Local (Single Session) and point it to the full path of the ISO file (instead of "[standard] win7x64.iso") then I do not get this error and the virtual machine is able to power on.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Hi,

Are you accessing the cd/dvd of the remote server or the client from where you are accessing the virtual machine?

For me it worked when using the remote server drive.
