"Shared Folders" with Workstation Pro 15 and RHEL 8

Has anyone else had this experience?

When creating a VM with RHEL 8 as the guest OS on a Win10 host, I could not see/access the configured shared folders. Nothing would be displayed/visible under /mnt/hgfs.

However, I then tried not allowing VMWare to auto-install RHEL during the creation of the VM, doing the installation manually. When I used this approach, the shared folders appear under /mnt/hgfs...no problems. I have a suspicion that this is due to the ability to configure "Software Selection" during the manual OS installation, (I selected Workstation with Container Management, Development Tools, and Graphical Admin Tools).

My Share Folders in RHEL7 Workstation disappear after every reboot.

I have to toggle disable and then back to enable to get /mnt/hgfs to populate after a vm reboot or startup.  However, this isn't the case with RHEL8. My share folders are restored on reboot.
