Host OS: Windows xp professional sp3

Guest OS: Ubuntu 8.04 desktop

VM Network Connection: NAT

VM Version: 6.5.1

Yesterday, I can connect the internet in my guest OS,but I can't do it now.

here is the ping result from Guest OS :

test@test-desktop:~$ ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

PING xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) 56(84) bytes of data.

From 192.168.57.128 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable

From 192.168.57.128 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable

From 192.168.57.128 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable

if I ping guest OS from host OS :

here is my route config for my Guest OS:

test@test-desktop:~$ netstat -rn

Kernel IP routing table

Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface

and I list the networking info for my guest OS:

Check if you can ping 192.168.57.1.

Check that the default gateway in your guest is 192.168.57.2

Check that the DNS server in your guest is 192.168.57.2

Check that the virtual NIC is "connected" in the guest hardware while the guest is running.

Have you already installed the VMware Tools inside the guest?

This brings you the corrrect LAN driver. if not install them and run through the network setup of your guest again.
