quick books problem in workstatioin 15

I am testing quickbooks 2021 in workstation 15. I cannot get QuickBooks to send mail as port 25 is not open. how do I open it?

What type of network connection does the VM have configured? NAT? Bridged?

Can the OS and other applications access other internet services?

You don't.

QuickBooks sends email to an external mail server. Quickbooks apparently uses port 25 in its configuration for sending emails. Most ISP's block port 25 to ANY mail servers on the internet except their own mail server. This is done to fight spam.

So it is not a local port problem, but an external mail server you cannot reach.

The solution is to reconfigure quickbooks.
Either use your ISP's recommended mail server via port 25 _or_ reconfigure quickbooks to contact your mail server via another port (usually port 465 or 587 and sometimes 2525)

Either way this is not a VM problem.
