programatically change default location for new virtual machines

I know you can change the default location for new VM's thru the Preferences gui, but I want to be able to change it for everyone who uses VMWare Workstation in my company so that it's no longer pointing to the user personal folder.

Where exactly is that setting stored?  I don't see it in the registry.

thanks!

WS does not use the registry to store settings.

Set the path in preferences.ini for each user:
prefvmx.defaultVMPath = "F:\"
