pfsense iso download not showing up in vmware creation step

hello! when i go to browse for an iso image when creating a new vm, my pfsense iso does not show up in file explorer. Yet i can see it when i open file explorer myself.

I am using vmware workstation 16 pro and downloaded the latest pfsense iso using the website and selected AMD64 bit, dvd image iso installer and the only region that showed up for me was austin texas, which is not even close to me.

Any ideas? thank you

Did you extract the *.gz file ? - sounds like you did not.
Make sure that your explorer shows known file extensions - so that you can tell if you have an iso or a gz archive.
By the way - you can also download the files from Frankfurt and Singapore.
