ovftool error: Unknown device: 'scsi-passthru'

I'm trying to use vmware's ovftool v. 2.1 to convert a vmx (made by WS8 for Linux) to vcf format.

I get this error:

Opening VMX source: Windows 7 x64.vmx
Error:
- Unknown device: 'scsi-passthru'.
Completed with errors

===

Can anyone advise me? Thanks.

Whats the reason to use the ovf-tool in such a special case ?

Remove the scsi-passthru device - it makes no sense to try to include it

I do not support Workstation 16 at this time ...

Thanks, Ulli. I did as you suggested, and the ovf conversion completed with apparent success.
