on Ubuntu, vmmon and vmnet need to be reinstalled everytime I restart.

I use VMWare Workstation for Linux. I run Ubuntu Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS on a AMD Ryzen 9 5950x 16 core processor.

Everytime I restart my machine, then launch VMWare, I get this...

Then when I click [Install] I get this...

This has happened before on other Linux machines so I am not sure it is related to this particular machine.

Is there any way to install that stuff permanently? Also, why doesn't the installer install that stuff permanently?

Others have said that it happens after a kernel update. That could be right. I don't restart my machine very often. Usually about once a month or less.

I found this in the forums...

vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

and did it. Time will tell.
