new to VM workstation and VM player

good morning

I am new in using VM workstation and VM player.  I am a developer and need a couple VM to test some work.  If i install VM player 6.03 for now, can i upgrade it to VM workstation if i had to?  I don't see i need VM workstation since i just need a couple VM running Windows 7 pro with VS 2008 and SQL 2008 ( i m using VS2010 and SQL 2012 on the host).

Also, I have installed a trial version of workstation 11 but have not created anything yet.  Can i just uninstall it and install player 6.  Do i have any clean up on workstation 11 even i haven't created anything on it yet.

i don't know a way to do an inplace upgrade from the vm player to the workstation.

but you can import without any problems your VMs from the player to the workstation...
