new install windows 10 pro 64 is not supported

hi, I get the message "64-bit guest operating systems are not supported by this host and will not run". The host is a Dell XPS L702X which runs on w10 1709 64.  What can I do?  thanks, leon

In order to run 64-bit guests in a Hypervisor, you need a processor which supports VT-x (Virtualization Technology), and this feature has to be enabled in the host's BIOS. Note that you may need to power cycle the host after changing this setting. A simply reboot might not be sufficient.

If this doesn't solve the issue, then please attach the virtual machine's vmware.log file to a reply post.
