network problems with Vmware workstation 6.5.0

workstation version 6.5.0 - 118166

I have two virtual machines W2003R2 and W2008r2 in a physical host with wxp .

Network configuration is in a bridge mode both.

Non dynamic Ip for both.

Physical PC1

W2003R2: W2008R2

IP: 172.17.0.1 IP: 172.17.0.2

Mask: 255.255.0.0 Mask: 255.255.0.0

No Gateways .

DNS: 172.17.0.205 DNS: 172.17.0.205

And one virtual W2003R2 on another physical machine.

Physical PC2

W2003R2: (is a DC)

IP: 172.17.0.205

Mask: 255.255.0.0

No Gateways .

DNS: 172.17.0.205

Both physical machines have connectivity no problem, Pc1 and PC2.

Virtual machines have connectivity both with DC in IP 172.17.0.205 and also from Dc to both machines, nslookups works OK.

There is no ping between machines guest on Physical PC1, well not exactly I have ping from W2008 to W2003 but not from W2003 to W2008, there is no firewall and no antivirus, nothing, default configuration, I have tried to desinstall W2008 and install other W2003 and no result , so there is no Windows OS problem.

I have try to change network configuration, I tried bridge, host, nat , custom, I tried vmware workstation version 6.0 and 6.5.3 and find no solution.

Any ideas ?

Do you ping by name or IP?

Can each host ping its guests?

Hello.

I ping by IP and every host can ping to his guest.

I have this network configuration.

W2003 W2008

IP: 172.17.0.1 IP: 172.17.0.2

MASK: 255.255.0.0 MASK: 255.255.0.0

GATEWAY: 172.17.0.3 GATEWAY: 172.17.0.3

DNS: 172.17.0.205 DNS: 172.17.0.205

ON PHYSYCAL MACHINE IP 172.17.0.3 mask 255.255.0.0

................................................................................................

W2003 DC WXP

IP: 172.17.0.205 IP: 172.17.0.21

MASK: 255.255.0.0 MASK: 255.255.0.0

GATEWAY: 172.17.0.4 GATEWAY: 172.17.0.4

DNS: 172.17.0.205 DNS: 172.17.0.205

ON PHYSICAL MACHINE IP 172.17.0.4 mask 255.255.0.0

Physical MACHINES are pinging one to each other , no problem.

Guest machines can ping her physical machine as a gateway and other guest in same machine, also can ping the other physical machine IP but not the guest.

Mode network bridge.

Error pinging: request time out.

I find the solution finally !!!!!

You give me the sun sjadapa, Thank´s a lot...

The problem was a new version of Trend Micro antivirus with a firewall driver instal-led on both physical machines.
