under the select guest operating system there is not option for mac os. Is there a way to add it?
No. It is a violation of Apple's licensing to run their OS on non-Apple hardware. The only legal products which can run Mac virtual machines are Fusion running on a Mac, and ESXi/vSphere running on Mac Server.
