Does anyone know a way of getting around an error regarding installing 64 bit o/s's. I tried installing and get the following error.
Attempting to load an x64 operating system, however this CPU is not compatible with x64 mode. Please install a 32-bit x86 operating system.
Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.
I have verified that the processor passes the test for installing 64 bit o/s. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
Can you provide some details regarding the hosts hardware (especially number of CPUs and CPU model)?
This is a quad core poweredge 1950.
I have 8 EMT64T FAMILY 6 MODEL PROCESSORS SHOWING
SYSTEM TYPE SHOWS AS X64 BASED PC
RUNNING WINDOWS 2003 ENTERPRISE X64 AS HOST OS.
Did you enable VT in the BIOS and did you power-off the system afterwards?
Thanks for the assistance. I have enabled this option and things appear to be working now. thanks again.
